Kara Gwaltney is the Director of CREDIT® Evaluations at the American Council on Education. In this role she leads academic teams in on-site and virtual reviews to evaluate the alignment of corporate training, apprenticeships and non-accredited courses with the content, scope, rigor and assessment practices currently in place at postsecondary institutions across the country.
In addition to conducting course and examination reviews, ACE CREDIT® facilitates opportunities for organizations who are innovating in the areas of badging, competency based assessment, and curriculum design to showcase their practices and efforts to increase non-traditional attainment. Prior to her full time role as Director, Gwaltney served in a consulting role as National Coordinator for CREDIT® Reviews at ACE for three years with a primary focus on developing best practices for ACE’s Virtual Review platform.
Gwaltney excels in strategic development, project planning, and virtual program service structures. She has a decade of experience working with non-traditional learners at four year profit and not for profit universities as a faculty member, academic advisor and director of student services in support of post-secondary attainment.
